Discovery Bay Paddled for Fame!

In their attempt to break the record they set last year, Discovery Bay residents went above and beyond the paddling requirement.  Participants of all ages decorated their small boats, came in costume, waged serious squirt gun wars, grooved to a floating band, and clearly had a great time.  Organizers Mike Guzzardo and Amanda Dove were "thrilled" with the turnout at the event.

7/1/2007- The SUMMER  OF  9 4 5 0 5  Begins ...

It's Party Time at Mandeville...Barron Hilton's Firework's Show and the party surrounding it, boats are now getting set up for the (in some cases) week long party. We'll be there aboard Take 5, so come say hi! (more information about the event on the Calendar Page) Pictures below are a typical 4th of July Raft up / an unknown couple river cruising "Mandeville Style" / Bruce cooking up lunch for us with Morgan thinking it's for her, and Howard Arneson LIGHTING IT UP !!!!!!!!!!!!  Yeah Baby...I remember a trip during Stag Cruise on Howard's boat...120MPH + and a U-Turn at 85....wowwwwwwwww.

6/24/2007- Sailboat Racing Is Alive And Well On San Francisco Bay

Just got off the water and home from San Francisco Bay, my team "Peerless US-138" Larry Drew "Helmsman", Mike Guzzardo "Tactician & Main", Chip Nilsen "Jib Trim", and Jon Jumbo Elliott "foredeck", won both races today (20 boats on the starting line) and secured our place in the Knarr Internationals (www.knarr-sf.com) to be hosted at San Francisco Yacht Club the first week in September. Pretty tired, but didn't want to miss the opportunity to share some great news!!!

6/23/07 -Discovery Bay Breaks World Record on 94505 DAY!!

More than 200 paddle boats and kayaks gathered in Discovery Bay on June 23rd to set a new World Record for the most manned paddle boats ever assembled in one location. With a final count of 183 qualified boats (they had to be tied together on connected in some way), the participants managed to beat the record by a clean 61 boats. (The original record was set ten years ago in Florida). Way to go Discovery Bay! See photos of the event on the Photo page.
